Follow these steps to install and prepare your Sabre Samurai Cutter for operation.
The Sabre Samurai Cutter is a hydraulic sickle bar attachment designed for efficient cutting and trimming tasks, compatible with various tractors, skid steers, excavators, and more.
Key Features:
- Cutting Capacity: Capable of cutting materials up to 1.5 inches (3.81 cm) in diameter depending on the pressure provided by the tractor and the hardness of the material being cut.
- Hydraulic Requirements: Operates with a hydraulic flow of 3 to 4.5 gallons per minute (GPM), making it suitable for most subcompact, compact, and larger tractors.
- Versatility: Can be mounted to cut vertically, horizontally, up to 40 degrees below grade or at any angle in between when used with the Deluxe EZ Mount Bracket.
- Compatibility: Functions with most subcompact and compact tractors.
- Compatibility: It functions with skid steers and excavators; however, a flow control valve may be required to ensure the cutter does not overspend. The maximum flow rate the cutter should operate at is 5 GPM.
- Construction: Features a 38-inch (96.52 cm) cutting bar equipped with 2-inch opposing sickle sections, powered by a hydraulic motor that drives an oscillating cam connecting two cutting blades.
Installation:
To install your Sabre Samurai Cutter, you will need the following hydraulic components: You can acquire these parts at any local hydraulic supplier.
- Hydraulic Connections: Hoses and fittings are not included with the cutter. To operate, #10 ORB male fittings are required to attach the hydraulic hoses to the ports of the Sabre Samurai, ⅜” hydraulic lines for subcompact and compact tractors, ½” hydraulic lines for tractors exceeding 15 GPM (gallons per minute ), skid steers, or larger equipment. Note: either port can be the pressure line using a bi-directional orbital motor.
- Flow Control valve: A flow control valve may be required for tractors exceeding 15 GPM (gallons per minute), skid steers, or larger equipment.

my tractor has 7.5 gal flow hydraulic, will i need a flow valve.
Hi John, no, you would not need a flow control valve, you would only need a flow control valve if your tractor exceeds 15GPM (gallons per minute).
